Why Wellness Is Multidimensional

Most models of wellness include at least 6 dimensions, some as many as 12.

We made this graphic organizer for our clients as a straightforward reminder that wellness has essential elements from various dimensions of life. We invite you to share this blog with a friend and bookmark it for future reference.

Physical: Keeping your body healthy through exercise, nutrition, sleep, etc.

Mental: keeping your mind sharp and engaged through learning, problem-solving, creativity, etc.

Emotional: being in touch with, aware of, accepting of, and able to express one’s feelings (and those of others)

Spiritual: your search for meaning and purpose in human existence and the human condition

Social: connecting with, interacting with, and contributing to other people in our communities and beyond

Environmental: cultivating a healthy physical environment free of hazards; awareness of the role we play in bettering, rather than denigrating, the natural environment; creating a physically & emotionally safe & comfortable space that’s reflective of your personal values & aesthetics

Purpose: your career, job, volunteer position, household responsibilities
